Tekken 3 is widely regarded as the best fighting game on the original PlayStation and one of the greatest 3D fighters ever made. Released in 1998, it introduced Jin Kazama, Ling Xiaoyu, Hwoarang, Eddy Gordo and Bryan Fury to the King of Iron Fist Tournament alongside returning legends like Paul, Nina, Yoshimitsu and the unstoppable Heihachi.
The fighting engine added genuine sidestepping, faster recovery and the now-iconic 10-hit combos. On top of arcade and versus, Tekken 3 packed Tekken Force (a side-scrolling beat-'em-up), Tekken Ball (volleyball with super attacks) and a deep practice mode — a content load unmatched by competitors at the time.

How to play Tekken 3
- 01From the title screen, choose Arcade, Vs, or Tekken Force.
- 02On the character select screen, move with the arrow keys and confirm with Z.
- 03Each face button is a limb: X = Left Punch, A = Right Punch, S = Left Kick, Z = Right Kick (defaults vary).
- 04Combine punches and kicks with directions for special moves and 10-hit combos.
- 05Beat all 8 opponents to clear arcade mode and unlock characters and endings.

Tips and tricks
- Sidestepping (tap up or down twice) makes you immune to most linear attacks. Master it.
- Block low (hold down + back) by default — most beginners spam low kicks.
- Eddy Gordo is a great starter character because of his unpredictable, button-mash-friendly capoeira.
- Jin's Electric Wind God Fist (forward, down, down-forward + Right Punch) is the most reliable launcher in the game.
- Practice 10-hit combos in Practice mode — they're the easiest path to big damage early on.
